The Frank Harr Foundation would like to invite you to a virtual screening of a powerful film titled Race – The Power of an Illusion. There is a quick synopsis below and if you would like you can find a snippet of the film at this link.
Race is cultural not biological – yet the health, economic, and policy consequence are very real. Join us from your own home as we explore these realities with a screening of the award-winning, three-part documentary RACE – The Power of an Illusion. Each week we will explore a new segment (about 50 minutes long) and follow with a lively discussion. Discussions will be led by Dr. Michaela Howells, Assistant Professor of Anthropology at UNCW and will provide opportunities to ask questions and build a deeper understanding of this timely topic.
We’ll meet Wednesday September 30, October 7 & 14 from 5:30 – 7:30. No reservation necessary. You are welcome to join for one or all three evenings! Thank you for helping us spread the word.
Wednesday September 30: Episode 1 – The Difference Between Us
Wednesday October 7: Episode 2 – The Story We Tell
Wednesday October 14: Episode 3 – The House We Live
