of the Cape Fear Coast’s mission is to bring our LGBTQIA elders together by organizing social gatherings and networking with existing service/advocacy programs to build support and community for each other.
SAGE Night Out is held by SAGE Wilmington and involves the senior population of Wilmington, NC to gather and hangout! This is specifically tailored to the LGBTQ+ community, but allies are welcome as well. These hangouts are every third Wednesday of the month, from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. We hope to see you there!
For resources dealing with the elderly population and Alzheimers disease as well as resources to try and prevent this disease itself. SAGE Wilmington has partnered with Alzheimers NC to increase competency and provide local solutions or resources.

HERO is a local organization standing for HIV + Elders Regional Outreach. It was an agency formed in early 2015. 70% of those living with HIV/AIDS are over the age of 50, meaning that this is a big topic for the elderly community. Check out this page for more information. This website provides information on what SAGE Wilmington is based off of. SAGE USA is the national organization that also serves the elderly LGBTQ+ community.
For help with economic stability, SAGE Cents is a program that can help with finances geared specifically towards the elderly community. This may be especially relevant for those during our current climate dealing with COVID-19.
To sign up for a phone call to talk about your day, what may be bothering you, or anything on your mind, you can follow the link above. SAGE Connect is a program ran through the internet that will connect an elderly member to someone else who is willing to listen and mostly wants to chat.
SAGE Table is similar to our SAGE Night Out. The only difference is that SAGE table is open to anyone nationally, whereas the one through the Frank Harr Foundation is more local. If you have the time though you should check this out.
